Pune has seen a significant rise in Covid-19 cases with 958 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours. The active caseload crossed 6,000 on Sunday.

According to health reports, around 258 patients are currently being treated in hospitals. Of the total active cases, 6,256 people are under home quarantine.

Nearly 532 new cases were reported from PMC, while 194 new cases were reported from PCMC areas. 139 new cases were reported in rural areas and 19 patients tested positive in cantonments.

In the last 24 hours, 426 patients were discharged under PMC, 208 under PCMC, 30 in cantonments, 63 from councils and many more.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra reported 2,591 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday. The total number was 80,04,024 and the death toll was 1,47,976.
