On Wednesday, July 13, Bangladesh beat West Indies by 9 wickets in the second ODI at the Providence Stadium to take a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
The Tigers looked stark in the Test and T20I series, but put their best foot forward in the 50-over format.
After winning by six wickets in a rain-interrupted match, Tamim Iqbal and Co sealed the fate of the series with a superb performance.
West Indies decided to bowl first and were bowled out for 108 runs in 35 overs. Apart from Keemo Paul who scored an unbeaten 25, none of the other batsmen from the home team put up a fight.
Mehdi Hasan Miraz took four wickets and broke the backbone of Caribbean batting. Nasum Ahmed took three wickets and conceded runs at an economy rate of 1.90 with four maidens, making it difficult to get out.
Taskin Ahmed was replaced by Mozadek Hossein Saigat in the playing eleven, taking the prized wicket of Rovman Powell. West Indies posted the second lowest ODI score at home.
Tamim Iqbal and Najmul Hossain Shando put on 48 runs for the opening wicket to lay the groundwork for Bangladesh in the run chase. Shando scored 20 runs and was dismissed by Kudakesh Moti.
On the other hand, Tamim remained unbeaten on 50 runs with 7 fours to help the Tigers chase down the target in 20.4 overs.
This is their 10th win against West Indies in ODI cricket. The Caribbean side have not beaten the Tigers since December 2018.
The third and final ODI of the series is scheduled to be played at the same venue on Saturday, July 16.
