The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, with the possibility of heavy rains


An orange alert has been issued for Mumbai and Thane by the Mumbai Regional Meteorological Department. According to IMD, Mumbai, Kalyan, Thane and Navi Mumbai are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain till 1 pm today.

An orange alert has been issued for Mumbai and Thane by the Mumbai Regional Meteorological Department. According to IMD, Mumbai, Kalyan, Thane and Navi Mumbai are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rain till 1 pm today.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said moderate to heavy rains are expected over Mumbai and its suburbs today with very heavy to very heavy rains likely at isolated places.

The BMC said gusty winds of 45-55 kmph may occur at times.

A red alert has been issued for Kolhapur, Palghar, Nashik, Pune and Ratnagiri districts for heavy rain till July 14 as heavy monsoon rains begin in the state.

Orange alert has been issued in Mumbai for three consecutive days. Amid heavy rains, high tide hit Marine Drive in Mumbai on Tuesday.
