In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has decided to extend its support to the former Jharkhand Governor’s candidature. Draupadi Murmu, for President of India.
Stating that the TDP has always been committed to social justice, the party’s national president N Chandrababu Naidu said at the TDP’s strategy committee meeting held on Monday, July 11, that he has decided to support Draupadi Murmu for the post of President of India.

“Similarly, apart from political views, Telugu Desam wholeheartedly supported PV Narasimha Rao in Nandyal to ensure he became the Prime Minister of India. Therefore, Telugu Desam Party has always stood by the Telugu people and is committed to social justice,” party president Chandrababu Naidu said.
Earlier, Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu met Andhra Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy at his residence.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission is preparing to hold the presidential election on July 18.
