Talking about Brahmastra’s delay, Ranbir Kapoor says, ‘We are not ready for the beast that it will be’.

Ranbir Kapoor is returning to the big screen after four years. The actor, who was last seen in Sanju, is currently gearing up for the release of Shamshera. While promoting Shamshera, Ranbir recently interacted with the media. During the conversation, Ranbir talked about his long-delayed film Brahmastra. The actor opened up about the factors behind the film’s delay. RK said that when he started making the film, he was not ready to play the animal Brahmastra.

Speaking at length about Brahmastra’s delay, the actor said, “To be honest, when a film gets delayed, there are many factors attached to it. I’m not a director; I’m an actor. So I’m a servant. The talent of a film where the director tells you to reach the set by this time, that’s it.” We were shooting and as for the delays of Brahmastra, when we started the film, I think we weren’t ready. It had a lot of special effects and where the story is, we didn’t expect it. So we learned while making it.”

The actor further stated that the aim of each of his films, produced or not, is to make it the best it can be.

“We’ve never been lazy about it, we’ve always worked. So delays sometimes mean a lot of reshoots, and there’s nothing wrong with reshoots because, ultimately, the audience is going to see the final product. If you shoot for 100, 200, or 40 days. Also, your product should be good,” he added.

On the job front

Job wise, Ranbir stars in Shamshera alongside Vani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film is slated to release on July 22, 2022. After that, the actor will star in Brahmastra with his wife Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna. It will hit the big screen on September 9, 2022.
