RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat confers honorary doctorate on Sunil Gavaskar from Bengaluru University

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) president Mohan Bhagwat on Wednesday conferred an honorary doctorate on former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar at Sri Sathya University in Bengaluru.

Delivering the university’s first convocation address that day, Bhagwat said the signs of the nation’s progress are now visible everywhere.

“Signs of India growing by integrating its knowledge base from the past with future studies are now everywhere. If someone had said 10-12 years ago that India would grow, we would not have taken it seriously,” said Bhagwat of Sri Sathya Sai University, Muthenahalli, Chikkaballapura district. said at the first convocation ceremony.

However, the process of nationhood did not begin immediately, but from 1857 onwards, it was further developed by Swami Vivekananda.

Bhagwat said that because science still does not understand the source of creation, it is possible to achieve excellence through spiritual means.

Science has tried everything through its piecemeal approach and found that everything is interconnected. However, it is yet to find the connecting factor, said RSS Sarsang Salak.

According to him, existing science lacks coherence and balance in its study of the external world, resulting in a situation of contradiction everywhere.

“If your language is different, there is conflict. If your religion is different, there is conflict, if your country is different, there is conflict. There is conflict between development and environment, between science and spirituality. This is how the world has progressed in the last 1,000 years,” Bhagwat said.

Bhagwat conferred honorary doctorates on former ISRO chief K. Kasthurirangan, Indian Hindustani singer M. Venkatesh Kumar, Assam Poornima Devi Burman and C Srinivas for providing free medical care to many others.

Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence is established at Navanihala village in Kamalapur taluk of Kalapuraki district in Karnataka.
