Ranbir Kapoor is playing a larger than life hero with the action entertainer Shamshera. The actor, who is coming to the big screen four years after delivering the blockbuster Sanju, surprised everyone with his incredible intensity when the trailer of the film dropped. The trailer reveals that Ranbir is playing the role of father Shamshera and son Balli in this revenge drama. This is the first time that Ranbir is playing two roles in the same film and he is enjoying being a part of a true blue Hindi film.
In the first episode of a three episodic candid video series titled ‘RK Tapes’ which sees him talking about Hindi cinema and everything he loves about it, RK admits that he was born ‘filmy’! The superstar said that soon after his birth, “the doctor declared his blood group as U/A”.
In the first episode – ‘Love for Hindi Cinema’ – Ranbir is seen saying, “The world of the cinema hall has its own magic… the big screen, the surround sound, the aroma of popcorn and samosas… and starts a journey every time. A whole new world… especially if you indulge in a full Hindi potboiler… 300 more people laughing and crying!”
He says, “There’s a bug in me. A bug is more deadly than a virus. A bug of rebirth, a grudge, a chiffon saree in a snowy landscape and a bug confessing love in the rain. Shamshera is set in the fictional city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by the brutal authoritarian general Shud Singh.
