Power projects worth Rs 2,723 crore have been launched in Uttar Pradesh


12 power substations and transmission centers were inaugurated in Uttar Pradesh, while foundation stones for five more were laid during the Electricity Festival and Energy Day held as part of Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya.

These schemes were launched in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday. The total value of the projects is estimated at Rs.2723.20 crore.

Congratulating the people, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh has seen great progress in power generation and distribution.

The Chief Minister added that during the previous governments, there were four “VIP districts” in UP, while the remaining 71 districts were denied power, leaving the people in darkness. “But today there are no VIP districts as every district is a VIP district. In the last five years electricity has been provided to people without discrimination. This is what we call democracy,” the Chief Minister pointed out.

According to the Chief Minister, at present power is supplied for 23 to 24 hours in district headquarters, 20-22 hours for taluk headquarters and 16 to 18 hours for villages. As the country celebrates Amrita Mahotsavam in the next 25 years, our aim is to provide electricity to every household in the state in the next five years to help achieve the goal of Ujjwal Bharat.

Chief Minister Yogi urged Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation officials to strengthen the billing and connection system to make the energy sector self-sufficient.

The newly commissioned transmission/distribution substations are Rasra (Ballia), Babina (Jhansi), Malwan (Badepur), Ayodhya, Azizpur (Shajahanpur), Dulhibar (Sant Kabirnagar), Mandada (Pradhapgarh), Bilochpura (Baghpat), Mirganj (Bareli), Kaila (Chitrakoot) and Bhagpat.

Foundation laying of transmission/distribution substations of various capacities at Knowledge Park-5, Ecotech-8 & 10 and Jalpura, Greater Noida (Gautam Budh Nagar), Shoratgarh (Siddharthnagar).
