Olympian and World Cup gold medalist Mairaj Ahmed Khan once again asserted his class as he clinched the skeet gold at the Digvijay Singh Shotgun Championship at the Dr. Karni Singh Range in Tughlaqabad on Sunday.

The 46-year-old Miraj lost just one birdie in the medal round to defeat Arjun Thakur 35-30 to win the gold. He topped the semi-final with 27 hits after entering the final with a paltry score of 115, six points behind qualification topper Gurjot Khangura.

“The final and semi-finals were amazing. I will work only on qualification for the next three months,” said Miraj.

In the last World Cup in Changwon, Mirage had to win a shoot-off with four others after being tied on 119 runs for the last two berths before making a run for the gold.
