Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray arrives at Dilip Kumar’s residence to pay final respects; says ‘He will remain in the hearts of film lovers forever’

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray was among the many dignitaries and celebrities who paid their last respects to the residence of the late legendary actor Dilip Kumar.

The CM clicked on his arrival at the residence of the Padma Vibhushan award recipient on Wednesday afternoon. Thackeray was also among the many politicians to share some kind of words on social media, recalling the cine myth of his contribution to cinema.

“Enriching the Indian film industry and shining star from the silver lining. Dilip Kumar, who played the role of Ajmer, will always be in the hearts of movie lovers and fans. A heartfelt tribute to popular actor Padma Vibhushan Dilip Kumar,” the CM wrote in a Marathi-translated tweet.

Dilip Kumar’s body will be laid to rest at Juhu Cemetery in Mumbai at 5 pm this evening. It was announced that the state funeral for Kumar would be held as per the instructions of CM Thackeray.

Sharing more details about the last rites, Dilip Kumar’s spokesperson Faisal Farooq took to his former Twitter account and wrote, “Bury at 5pm today .. Juhu Cemetery in Santa Cruz Mumbai.”

Prime Minister Modi, President Ram Nath Kovind, various heads of state and other political parties also mourned on social media.

Dilip Kumar, 98, was pronounced dead at PD Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. He was admitted on June 30 after Breath complained of shortness of breath.
