In a late night development, Sports Minister Govind Goud informed the ongoing Legislative Assembly that the Indian Olympic Association had approved it. Goa is the host state for the National Games next year

Addressing the meeting on Wednesday night, Mr. Gowd thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing the opportunity and said that the necessary infrastructure to host the Games would be ready by December.

“I am very happy to announce that the Government of Goa has received an email from the Indian Olympics Association a short time ago in consultation with the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports that Goa will host the 37th National Games anytime soon. 2023,” Mr. Goud told the House.

I am very thankful to the Prime Minister and Home Minister for giving me this opportunity.

Mr. Goud said that he has already informed the members of the legislature that the state is ready to host the National Games by December 2022.

Speaking on the demands for grants to the sports department on the floor of the House, Mr. Goud clarified that the necessary infrastructure for sports will be prepared by December 2022.

“We will be ready with infrastructure by December 2022 and next year Goa will be able to host the National Games,” the minister said.

“Forget history, let’s make history in the future,” he said.
